It’s always a nightmare when it comes to dressing in Winter-time because all I want to put on are huge, cosy, baggy jumpers! And though there is definitely time for those, I want to try and make the most out of my wardrobe throughout the year. Obviously certain summer clothes wouldn’t work in Winter, but I’m sure if you’re anything like me, there will be a dress in your wardrobe that will transition really well!
This flower dress is from H&M, it has a short layer over the top which adds a bit of detail and I thought it was the perfect piece to take from summer to winter with additional pieces added to the outfit. Obviously the dark emerald green cardigan was perfect as it picked up the same colour in the dress and dark green is always associated with this time of year! My black leggings made an appearance to keep my legs warm and I picked up the black again in my choice of furry black handbag which again is a very wintery accessory. To complete the outfit I chose my Zara gold pumps as I love the contrast of the gold with the green and they are so comfy while still being stylish!
Are there any pieces you take through from your summer to winter wardrobe?
So as I mentioned in my first blog post, I am engaged! And a lot of my life at the moment is all about wedding planning! It’s so much fun but can be very draining, so when my friends suggested going to a wedding fair, I couldn’t resist! It’s so nice being able to wander around looking at the different stalls and as we had VIP tickets we had seats for the bridal catwalk show and we got a free glass of bubbly which was lovely!
I took lots of photos of things I saw, that might help you if you’re getting married for ideas and inspiration or if you just like looking at pretty things, there’s lots for you too!! 😉
All Photographs were taken on my Olympus Pen e-pl7.
I feel that in my blog posts I want to take the best photographs possible; so that is why I own the Olympus Pen e-pl7! I have a degree in Photography and have used and tested a lot of different camera’s in the past, from every day point and shoot, to high end professional camera’s. But the Olympus Pen e-pl7 is definitely one of my favourites!
As you can see from the photos, it’s a really compact camera which is small enough to fit in my handbag- perfect! Also having a disability which weakens my arms means that heavy camera’s are not an option and this camera is pretty lightweight and not hugely bulky which makes my life a lot easier. The Pen has a wide variety of lenses you can choose from, mine came with the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14‑42mm 1:3.5‑5.6 lens which is a zoom lens. This is ideal for shooting outfit posts and general shots because I can zoom up to 3 x what I see through the camera. A lot of other bloggers use the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14‑42mm 1:3.5‑5.6 ‘Pancake’ lens which I will admit makes the camera even more slimline and this is definitely on my Christmas wish list!!
The camera technically is sound; it produces very high quality photographs for it’s size, it has a quick autofocus (but you can also control the focus manually too) and when I’m having a weak day and may need some extra help, it has a fantastic image stabiliser.
The Olympus Pen e-pl7 is THE perfect selfie camera for those of us who love to pose! And if you’ve seen my Instagram.. you know I love to! The screen flips down so you can see yourself when taking the shot so you’re always guaranteed to get one you love! There are also around 20 different filters to choose from including a gorgeous vintage one and around 25 different scene selections to suit your exact situation, so you can get unique and interesting photographs every time.
This post isn’t sponsored, I just wanted to tell you all about this camera that I love to use and really recommend to anyone who loves photography. And let’s be honest, doesn’t it just look beautiful too?!
As much as I love autumn colour at this time of the year, I find myself purchasing lots of monochrome pieces! I think it can look really sophisticated and of course, very slimming! I purchased this amazing jumper from Wallis; I was shocked at the amount of gorgeous knitwear they have on sale at the moment and I could’ve bought a lot more! But I love how this incorporated the grey and white elements along with the black to brighten it up a bit. I ended up purchasing the large as I wasn’t sure how oversized it would be, I should’ve sized down to a medium really, but I wanted to wear it too much so I belted it with this black studded belt from Primark instead! I actually think this worked well because the belt helps to draw in my waist.
I teamed the jumper with my staple black New Look leggings, a simple but beautiful Stag necklace and last years Evans grey boots which picked up the grey colour in the jumper to complete the outfit. For anyone like me who suffers with wide feet, Evans have a brilliant range of shoes and boots that are wide fitting and still fashionable.
I recommend you all check out Wallis’ range of knitwear, it’s so lovely! Do you like wearing monochrome pieces? Or do you prefer colour in autumn?
