Hi Everyone!
So this weekend I took my fiancé to St Albans for his birthday and I thought I would do a blog post all about it!
I’d never been before and it’s always so exciting to go somewhere new and explore! We arrived late on Friday night to our hotel which was the Premier Inn in the City centre. The staff were fantastic the whole time we were there and after calling ahead to make sure we had a wet room and bed raisers (if you have a manual hoist, you’ll know what I’m talking about!) we got to our room and it was great. The bedroom and wet room were huge, perfect for manoeuvring around.
On Saturday morning we woke up and had a cheeky breakfast at Costa which was lovely. We tried to look for a local cafe but it was freezing so we decided to go to the nearest place! Unfortunately it rained all day Saturday, but we persevered and wandered around the shops which were on the high street literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel.
There was a really lovely place called Christopher’s Place where there were some lovely shops; I had to take a cheeky look in Space NK but I was strong and managed to walk back out without buying anything! Definitely have a few things on my wish list though, namely the new Nars Spring Collection!
We also stumbled across a really love cafe called Kanuka where they sell all sorts of different flavour tea. I’ve never liked hot drinks my whole life until the end of last year where I started to drink lemon & ginger and other fruit teas, so I was in heaven! They had every flavour you could imagine including strawberries & cream, popcorn and choco nut caramel which I had to try!
You can buy Kanuka Tea online here.
Luckily on Sunday the rain disappeared and we were able to explore the cathedral, but not before we had devoured a delicious unlimited breakfast at the Premier Inn!
The cathedral was free to enter and is something I’d recommend to look around, just to appreciate the history and the sheer size of it!
Before heading home we stopped in a little shop called Raindrops on Roses (cutest name for any Sound of Music fans!!) and it had so many lovely things in it. I came out purchasing a gorgeous Lipstick print which I can’t wait to put on my wall!
I love travelling in both the UK and abroad, where would you recommend?
Much love,
Love your post, your pictures are gorgeous! ❤
