So Boots has recently had a 3 for 2 deal on all of their make up so of course I had to take advantage!
The first thing I wanted to pick up was this Contour Palette from Sleek; I have featured this in my travel essentials post and this is because it’s just so useful to have! I love not having to worry about bringing 3 separate products, to have them all in one is so much easier. The bronze, blush and highlight are all really beautiful and compliment my skin perfectly. The formula is lovely and the bronzer in particular is really easy to blend and is matte which makes it really wearable for everyday.
I also purchased these two eyeshadow palettes from Sleek as I loved the variety of colours in them. As it’s coming towards summer I tend to be more adventurous with my eye make up and these will really help me to experiment. There is a good range of nudes to brights, although most of them are shimmery so if this is something you don’t like in eyeshadow then I wouldn’t advise getting them! I love a bit of sparkle on my eyes, so they work well for me.
I was running out of powder and I wanted to try something different to what I had before, so i picked up this Revlon Photoready powder and I have to say I love it! It makes my skin look really flawless without drying it out or making it look ‘powdery’.
Also from Revlon I got these Ultra HD Matte Lipcolours; I was so excited to try these after all the hype building up on social media etc and overall I don’t love them. They look really pretty once they’re on but for my lips I just find them difficult to apply and the wand applicator just doesn’t put the product on very seamlessly. I am yet to try them with a lipliner which might help but the actual formula also isn’t very long lasting and after a meal, all of the product had gone from the middle of my lips and I had to re-apply which for a matte lipcolour, I wouldn’t expect!
I can’t seem to leave Boots without Barry M nail varnish and on this shopping spree I actually bought two! I love both colours and don’t have anything like these in my collection, so I just had to get them!
What make up have you been buying lately? Any recommendations?
So my bomber jacket collection is getting slightly out of hand, but when I saw this one in store I had to get it! It’s a pale pink colour with gorgeous flower print detailing.
I wanted to style mine in a festival feel as it’s getting to that time of year! So I clashed the print with this top and added some fun accessories.

It was my birthday on Sunday, I’m now the big 28 eeek! I was very spoilt and I thought I’d show you a few of the gifts I was given!
When your friend says ‘I think it would look amazing on Instagram..’ you know she’s a good friend! I love this slogan clutch bag.
My candle obsession continues thanks to my mum and dad and these two from Matalan are gorgeous summery scents.
A gorgeous make up bag from Benefit which will be perfect for my honeymoon. I may even use it to take my jewellery in to keep safe as it doesn’t hold as much as my normal travel make up bag featured here on my previous blog post, all about what make up essentials I take with me when I’m travelling!
I also received this gorgeous delicate gold bow bracelet from my bestie! It’s by Kate Spade and I love her range of jewellery and accessories.
I think my sister has been keeping up to date with my blog posts as she brought me a different colour in the Lancome Juicy Shakers which is amazing! This a pretty peach colour and it contains more glitter than my other one, so your lips look extra plump and juicy. This will be a perfect colour now it’s getting towards summertime.
I’ve been wanting to try the new Kiko Lovegrove limited edition range ever since it came out a couple of weeks ago and I got given this highlighter for my birthday! I’m so excited to try it, I’m hoping it might be a dupe of the Hourglass Ambient Light powder. Let me know if you want me to review it and do comparisons!?
Finally, I received this Crosley Vinyl player from my fiance! I’ve never really listened to much music on vinyl (only back when I was young and my mum and dad would play them all the time!) but it’s so fun! He even bought me the vinyl of One Direction’s album 😉 if you’ve got any recommendations of where to get new vinyls to add to my collection then please let me know!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and it might have even given you inspiration for presents you have to buy someone!
So when this blog post goes live it’ll actually be my birthday yay! I can’t believe another year has gone by and I’m another year older!
I saw this jumper some time ago and I missed buying it as it was sold out so quickly, so when I saw it had been re-stocked I just had to get it! I did get comments from certain friends that I looked like a sailor so I just went with it.. hence the title of this post 😉 I love that this jumper feels super casual but looks like I’ve made a lot of effort, especially paired with my trusty wet look leggings and black boots.
I bought these sunglasses at the same time as the jumper, because of course I needed another pair…! But I love the Miu Miu style of them for approx. £150 cheaper! Of course you may have already seen them on my April Wishlist.. oops!
The 90s trend is really in at the moment and I love this throwback style so I teamed my look with this pretty lace flower choker.

So I’ve just been for a weekend away to Derby for my cousins 40th birthday party and I thought I’d share with you what I take in my make up bag for short breaks.
I use a make up bag from Avon at the moment, which is amazing as it has 2 large sections and a built in holder for brushes. I tend to only take my essential make up brushes with me which include my foundation brush, powder and bronzer brush, blusher brush, a fan shaped brush which is amazing for highlight and 2 eyeshadow brushes. They fit really well in this make up case.
So including the brushes I mentioned before I try to take as few products as possible for ease of travelling, so having handy compacts like this Sleek Contour Kit make a big difference as you’ve got 3 products all in one. Obviously I take foundation and my favourite is from Bourjois, concealer and a setting powder. I am currently trying this new Revlon Photo Ready powder which so far is amazing!
One product that wouldn’t be a necessity for most would be a setting spray but I wouldn’t be able to do my make up without one! This particular one from Avon really works, I spray it on before I apply my foundation and after I’ve finished everything and it not only gives a lovely glow but sets my make up into place for hours on end.
These are the basics I take for my eye make up; this Makeup Revolution palette is perfect again because it has so many colours and shades that you can create a lot of eye looks with only one product! I always pack my Maybelline Masterbrow palette and Mascara of course. A black eye liner I think is very important for evenings if you want to amp up your existing daytime look, this one from Soap and Glory is great if you get watery eyes like me as it doesn’t budge!
If you’ve seen one of my recent posts, you’ll know that I have fallen in love with the Lancome Juicy Shaker! This is the perfect size for travel and as it’s so moisturising it’s perfect for keeping your lips in good condition while you’re away. I also tend to take my favourite nude lip gloss from NYX as it’s such a gorgeous colour which goes with every outfit!
So that’s what make up I take with me when I travel; are there any other essentials you think I should have? What can’t you leave home without?
We finally got some gorgeous weather at the weekend and I went to Castle Ashby for the day with my fiance; it’s so nice there which meant I could take some great blog photos!
I love this jacket from Primark, it’s a super soft faux suede and for the price it’s amazing! I wanted to create quite a sophisticated minimal look using khaki as the main feature with black basics. It was so nice not to be wearing boots for once and these black cut out brogues are perfect for transitioning from winter to spring.
I am obsessed with these sunglasses, they’re such a unique design and look much more expensive than they are!

So I recently managed to get my hands on one of the new Lancome Juicy Shaker Lip Glosses and I really wanted to review it for you! They’re not ultra expensive but for £18.00 they’re also not the cheapest lip gloss out there. Saying that though, I have to say they’re fully worth every penny!
I’ve never tried a specifically made lip oil before and the juicy shaker is unique in that it contains both pigment and oil combined to make a hydrating lip product. My lips feel so moisturised when I wear it and to top it off your lips look plumped and glossy that the word ‘juicy’ really sums it up!
The pigment doesn’t last for a huge amount of time on the lips but the applicator is so easy to use, you don’t need a mirror to re-apply and the effects of the oil last longer than the pigment which for someone with very dry lips like me is great.
The overall packaging is lovely, it’s a perfect size for your handbag. The colour I have is 166 Walk the Lime and unlike any other product I’ve found, they smell exactly as the name suggests; so not only do they look good but smell amazing too! I only have one so far and I can’t wait to get more.
Have you tried the Juicy Shaker’s before? What did you think? Are there any other shades you recommend?
